The idea

Rather than grab the pawn, Black develops the bishop actively and keeps the extra central tension on the board, sidestepping the sharpest King’s Gambit Accepted theory in exchange for solid development. It’s the calmer branch of the family - though White’s own kingside stays slightly weakened by the early f4 push regardless of which way Black answers it.
